BS Garage Doors is a South Tampa shop with one trade, three ZIP codes, and a simple bet: that a company which answers its phone and keeps its windows will never run out of neighbors to serve.
Why we started this.
Every homeowner in Tampa has the same story. Something breaks, you call three companies, one answers. They quote a window of "sometime Thursday," show up Friday, and the price on the invoice has grown a few line items the price on the phone never mentioned.
We started BS Garage Doors because that story is so common it's become the expectation — and beating the expectation in this trade isn't complicated. Answer the phone. Name a window you can keep. Charge what you quoted. That's the entire business model, and it's harder to find than it should be.
Garage doors are the right trade for that bet. A snapped spring isn't a someday project — it's your car trapped before work, and whoever actually shows up earns a customer for the life of the house. We intend to be the ones who show up.
Why only three ZIP codes
Most door companies serve the whole metro and let drive time eat their promises. We cover 33606, 33611, and 33629 — Hyde Park to Ballast Point, Bayshore to Westshore — and nothing else. Tight routes are why "same-day" on our site means same-day, not same-week. When we say we're minutes away, it's geometry, not marketing.
The standard we run on
- The phone gets answered — by a person at this shop, not a call center reselling your number.
- Pricing happens before the work — quoted on the phone, confirmed at the door, no "while we're here" upsells.
- $1M general liability before the first job — and Florida contractor licensing underway ahead of our October opening. We'll post the license number on this page the day it's issued.
- Parts that survive Florida — corrosion-resistant springs, galvanized cables, wind-rated doors. The bay punishes cheap hardware; we don't install it.
